Cannery Pier Hotel

The Columbia River views from the public areas and all—yes, all—the chic guest rooms at this hotel are unbelievable. Not surprising given that it was built over the pilings of the Union Fisherman’s Cooperative Packing Company, established in the 1890s by fisherman, many of them Finnish, who united against big-time canneries.

You’ll appreciate the Finnish influence even more in the spa’s authentic sauna and during the free Continental breakfast featuring Finnish delicacies. Other amenities include an exercise room, hot tub, free Wi-Fi, and library. Astoria’s historic trolley line is nearby, as are many restaurants, brewpubs, and shops. The hotel also has free chauffeur-driven rides in vintage cars and free use of retro-style bikes.
