Caballo Lake State Park

Description

This desert park covers 5,300 acres and borders the Caballo Mountains. The area includes campsites, shelters, and open hiking. All campsites are first-come, first-served. Electrical campsites and those with sewers are available. The Rio Grande is available for fishing, and swimming, boating and fishing are available in the 15-mile-long, 11,500-acre lake. Beginning in late October, bald and golden eagles arrive to nest in the park. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted.
