Big Point Sable Lighthouse

While Maine is known as the lighthouse capital of the U.S., the Big Point Sable Lighthouse in Ludington overlooks the vast Lake Michigan, allowing midwesterners to experience one of these majestic structures. A two-mile walk along one of Ludington State Park's nature trails will get you to this black-and-white beacon, where visitors can explore the grounds and keeper's quarters free of charge.
