Baranov Museum

Description

The Baranov Museum, located on Marine Way in Kodiak, chronicles and commemorates Alaska's history with Russia and the rich Russian culture that remains in the state. Created in 1967 after an earthquake threatened the survival of Alaska's Russian artifacts, the historical society incorporated the Baranov Museum to house, preserve, and display historical images, documents, artifacts, and more. Admission is free for children under 12, and donations are always accepted from benefactors and members. Updated hours, availability, programs, and exhibits are available on the web site, or by calling the museum at 907-486-5920.
