Babcock State Park


Babcock State Park covers 4,127 acres. With waterfalls, a fast flowing trout stream, and mountainous vistas, the park has a hilly and wooded terrain that includes 20 miles of hiking trails. The park features a restaurant, gift shop, and working grist mill. Visitors can use the tennis courts, swimming pool, and game courts. Activities include fishing, horseback riding, rowboat, paddleboat, and canoe rentals, and a seasonal nature/recreation program. There are campsites with electric hookup (some suitable for trailers) and vacation cabins that remain open from mid-April to the end of October. Horses can be rented for guided tours only. Handicapped-accessible sites and facilities are available. A West Virginia state fishing license is required. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted in park and campgrounds, but not in cabins. Reservations: West Virginia has a central reservation phone number for all state campgrounds: 800-225-5982/800-CALL-WVA. There is a nonrefundable fee for each reservation made.
