Alaskaland

Description

Serving as both a theme park and a community park, Alaskaland was developed between 1960 and 1961 in an effort to preserve, display, and highlight the rich history of Fairbanks. In 2002, in order to reflect the atmosphere, activities, and attractions that it boasted, Alaskaland was officially crowned Pioneer Park. Today, Pioneer Park features bear exhibits, outdoor equipment rentals, an air museum, and much more. The unique twist of community park and attraction make Pioneer Park appealing to locals, frequent visitors, and out-of-towners for a day or weekend of family fun. For hours of operation and more, visitors should visit the Pioneer Park website.
